Interfax writes that a married couple from Russia died as a result of a landslide on the island of Phuket (Thailand).

In the Karon area, on August 23, as a result of heavy rains, a landslide descended and covered residential buildings and streets. In total, as a result of the landslide, 50 houses were damaged, 8 people were killed, among them two citizens of the Russian Federation.

According to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation, the identities of the dead due to the landslide on Phuket Russians are identified as a man born in 1986 and a woman born in 1988. The diplomatic mission decides on the issue of organizing the repatriation of bodies to their homeland.
