A new rating of the coolest beaches was recently compiled by the Beach Atlas travel guide service. The researchers explained that they are not going to focus on clean water and golden sand and want to expand traditional assessment methods.
The best beaches were selected in six categories: beauty, that is, to have the same “postcard” look; inclusivity — a guarantee that a person with any characteristics will feel comfortable here; natural diversity, an active lifestyle (festivals, parties or, for example, sporting events should take place here), importance for the local community and historical and cultural significance. Further, the opinion of tourism experts was taken into account.

Yes, Halaktyrsky beach is a paradise for surfers, a stretch of the coast of the Avacha Bay far from civilization. You can only get here by private car — it’s 20 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Bathers are not often found here — even in summer, the water does not warm up above +16…+18 °C. But the waves on this beach are considered the best in Russia, and the conditions are suitable for both beginners and extreme surfers who surf here all year round. The gentle sandy bottom, the average wave height of one and a half meters and the absence of sharks make Halaktyrsky beach attractive for riders. Well, the bonus is the views of the volcanoes — Avachinsky, Koryaksky and Kozelsky.

Waikiki Beach in Hawaii closes the top 3. Experts called this place unique because of its historical heritage: there are four stones on it – a tribute to the healers who brought the art of healing from Tahiti to Hawaii many centuries ago.
The fourth place is at Copacabana, the famous beach in Rio de Janeiro. It was named for the unique combination of the vibrant energy of urban life and natural beauty.
Maya Bay, Thailand’s most popular beach, was ranked fifth, and not only because of the amazing water and impressive cliffs. It was here that the film “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio was shot. So there is no end of tourists here now. Therefore, the lagoon is closed from time to time so that nature can recover, and the rest of the time there is a limit on the number of visitors.
