The platform Bronevik.com MTS Travel, which is part of MTS Travel, has studied reservations of hotels, apartments and other accommodation facilities for seconded employees in the first half of 2024. According to the study, Russians began to make 25% more business trips around the country.

The top cities in terms of the number of business trips are traditionally headed by three capitals – the official, northern and Ural. In Moscow, 13% of all bookings of tourist accommodation for business trips around the country were made, in St. Petersburg – 7%, and in Yekaterinburg – 2%.
However, the leader in the increase in business trips was the “gas capital” of Russia – the city of Novy Urengoy. In the first half of 2024, 132% more business bookings were made there than in the same period last year. This allowed Novy Urengoy to rise from the 23rd to the eighth position in the top cities in terms of the number of orders for business trips.

The share of daily facilities from all bookings is still small (4%), however, compared to the first half of 2023, the number of orders in this segment increased by 89%.
Which facilities do business travelers most often stay at
“We recommend that hoteliers pay special attention to the audience of business travelers, even if they work mainly with independent travelers. The focus on consistently paying business guests becomes a good help, for example, in the off-season. Special tariffs and corporate discounts can be used to attract business travelers,” the executive director of the platform comments Bronevik.com Marina Goncharenko.
