Together with the tour operator Anex, we looked at the new resort The Little Shore near the Khao Sok National Park, the Sunsuri Phuket and Angsana Laguna Phuket hotels on Phuket. We went up to the observation deck on the glass bridge and tried Thailand’s favorite tourist attractions. We share our impressions and photos.
The Little Shore by Katathani
Area: Phang Nga (Mainland)
Beach: Khao Lak (on site)
A brand new hotel opened in May 2024 next to the family resort The Sands (also from the Katathani chain). Guests of these two hotels are free to use the pools, beaches and bars on their territories. The Sands pool, for example, has children’s slides, and The Little Shore positions itself as a resort for a romantic getaway.
The Thais themselves choose Khao Lak beach for their holidays, because there are fewer tourists here, a picturesque coast and a green national park around.
In summer, there are red flags on the beach, the sun beds are removed. But tourists still sunbathe on the sand and carefully enter the sea during high tides. From November to March, it is safe to swim here. There is a special marble podium for photos against the sunset background. There are other photo spots along the shore: a tree with shell pendants and a swing at the white lighthouse.
By the pool, you can lie on a sun lounger, order drinks and take shelter in the shade of cozy cabanas.
You can cool off in the pool without leaving your room — each guest has their own pool and sun beds on the terrace.
The bright new rooms are equipped so that you do not want to leave them. Stylish and technological details are found at every step: lavender pillows by the bed, a multimedia panel to which you can connect your music via Bluetooth, salt and bath bombs.
To inform the hotel staff that cleaning needs to be done or, conversely, not to disturb, guests put wooden figures of otters with a broom or a pillow outside. And to refuse to change towels, you need to put an otter in a shower cap on the sink.
As explained to us at the hotel, the otter symbolizes loyalty, because this animal spends its whole life with one partner, which is why this animal is one of the symbols of The Little Shore. By the way, you can meet live otters on the territory of the hotel.
The restaurant serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner — à la carte. There are many seafood delicacies on the menu, and snack sets are accompanied by a spectacular presentation.
Sunsuri Phuket
District: Rawai (South Phuket)
Beach: Nai Harn (3 minutes by shuttle or 7 minutes on foot)
The buildings and villas of this stylish resort visually dissolve into the tropical forest on the hillside. Only the orange umbrellas by the pool remind of the presence of tourists here.
If your client is looking for relaxation in an atmosphere of privacy and natural aesthetics — Sunsuri Phuket meets this request.
To relax as much as possible in privacy, it is better to book villas. The houses are located on a hillside, away from the central building, swimming pool and restaurants. Each villa has its own swimming pool with Jacuzzi function, sun beds and a table in case of a party. Everything is arranged in such a way that it is impossible to spy on vacationers.
The buffet is served for breakfast in the restaurant, there are set lunches, à la carte dinners. There is a children’s club.
A few minutes from the hotel there is one of the most cozy and picturesque beaches of the island — Nai Harn. From here you can see the wind turbine, which is often found in the photos of tourists. A tuk-tuk runs from the hotel to the beach every hour, if you walk, the road will take less than 10 minutes.
From the hotel you can arrange hopping along the beaches and viewpoints of south Phuket. And also — go up to the observation deck with a windmill. You can see several beaches from here. One of them, Yanui, is very close. Here vacationers snorkel and kayak.
From Sunsuri Phuket, it is easy to get to the southernmost point of Phuket — Promthep Cape. There are beautiful sunrises and sunsets, there are spectacular restaurants and the main point of attraction is the Brahma temple, surrounded by a thousand elephants. Elephant figurines from all over the world are brought by believers to ask for good luck in fulfilling their plans.
Also in the south of the island there is the Rawai fish embankment, where fishermen bring fresh catch, which can be immediately cooked for dinner.
Angsana Laguna Phuket
Area: Laguna (West of Phuket)
Beach: Bang Tao (on site)
A family-run hotel in Phuket’s large Lagoon resort complex. It is located on the first coastline. Swimming in the sea is allowed from November to March, but in summer you can enjoy a deserted, well-groomed beach.
The territory is organized in the form of a park, in the center of which there is a swimming pool, 323 meters long. The depth is suitable for adults and children. There is a playground and a kids’ club on site.
Breakfast includes a varied buffet with local dishes and the usual European menu.
Next door in the Lagoon, the renovation of Dusit Thani, the very first resort in this area of Phuket, is being completed in autumn. The hotel on the first line has also been waiting for guests to its beach since November. More news from Dusit Thani — the opening of a new hotel in Bangkok.
Outside the resorts there is a large selection of restaurants, shops and currency exchange offices.

The statue of the Great Buddha
A meditating marble Buddha sits on the highest point of Phuket and protects the island from those who may come with bad intentions. The Buddha’s gaze falls on the panorama of Chalong. For a donation, you can tie a wish thread on a Buddhist monk’s hand.
Crocodile and snake farms
On farms, you can learn about the species of reptiles living in Thailand, watch a show of trainers, buy crocodile skin products or medicinal preparations with snake components.
Wat Chalong Temple
Believers come here to pray, receive a prediction and ascend to the flask with the ashes of the Buddha. Initiations to monks and rituals of protection from evil spirits are held here. And tourists look with interest at the temple architecture of the XIX century, study fragments of the life of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha and get acquainted with the traditions of Thai Buddhism.
Siam Niramit Show
A theatrical show with visual effects and musical accompaniment in three acts tells the story of Thailand, its inhabitants, tells about their traditions and beliefs. During the performance, a river flows on stage, boats sail by, it rains, thunder rumbles. Sinister demons and grandiose festivals replace each other.
The ticket price includes a dinner on the food court with a wide selection of dishes, as well as a visit to the Thai Village pavilion, where you can interactively explore the traditions of everyday life in different regions of Thailand.
Star Islands Tour
From Phuket to the first point — Maya Bay — it takes about an hour to get by high-speed boat. This location was the set of the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Next, tourists go diving from a boat in Pi Le Bay, and on the way from the bay they look at the Viking Cave and Monkey Bay. Bambu Island with the beach of the same name offers a reef for snorkeling.
Next, the boat goes to Reilly Beach in Krabi province. From there, tourists walk along a path through limestone caves to Pranang Beach. Here is the Cave of the Princess, or the Temple of Fertility. It is also a beautiful place for swimming surrounded by rocks.
The Lost Paradise Tour
This tour claims to be a hit. Tourists set off early in the morning to catch the dawn at a new vantage point — the Skywalk glass bridge at the Beyond Hotel in Phang Nga. Guests have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the rocky islands and go to James Bond Island, which became the filming location of the fifth part of the Bond. You need to get to the island by sea on a traditional Thai longtail boat. On the island, you can walk to the cave and buy pearl and shell jewelry at the market.
The final point of the program is kayaking along the rocky islands with a swim into caves.
Jungle Express Tour
The Monkey Temple is a cave of natural origin. Here you can see the golden statue of the reclining Buddha and explore the grottoes. There are many monkeys on the territory, which can be fed in special areas.

Khao Sok + Cheo Lan Lake Tour
Khao Sok National Park is one of the largest and most beautiful national parks in southern Thailand.
You can start exploring the park by riding elephants. Continue on bamboo rafts on the Klongsok River. And to give yourself the delight of the views — on a safari on Cheo Lan Lake. The boat trip takes place on long-tailed boats. The surface of the lake is calm — such a tour can be a calm alternative for tourists who find it difficult to endure sea excursions.

Nightlife
Hangouts on Phuket is focused on the area of Patong Beach. It’s worth going there for the atmosphere of a bustling tourist island, at the same time you can go to the mall or to nostalgic McDonalds and Starbucks.
Night markets are loved by almost all tourists. Here you can walk through the rows, try ice cream, snacks and exotics, buy souvenirs. It is worth combining a trip to the market with a trip to the old city (Old Phuket), where the market takes place every Sunday. Or go to one of the largest and most popular markets — Chillva Market.
