The share of family mortgages in total sales doubled in August and reached two thirds of the total volume of housing loans issued in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, VTB said.
“After the completion of the preferential program for new buildings at 8%, the value of the “family” mortgage is growing,— said Vera Tuchkova, Deputy head of the VTB Retail Sales Department. “In conditions of high rates, a “family” mortgage allows borrowers in need of support to get a loan on preferential terms.”
Since July 10, when the new program parameters were announced, VTB has issued 1.3 billion rubles in the region, while the total volume of issuance in the country during this period is 17 billion rubles. The average loan amount was 6.6 million rubles.
It should be noted that in accordance with the new conditions, a family with a child under 6 years old or with a disabled child can take a loan for the purchase of a new building throughout the country, for families with two minor children (regardless of their age) Family mortgages are available in small towns with a population of up to 50,000 people, as well as in regions with low construction volumes or where there are individual development programs. In addition, in any region, families with two children, with one child under 6 years old or a disabled child can purchase a private house from a developer on a preferential family mortgage or receive money from a bank for its construction using an escrow account.
