Since July 1, 2024, travelers have had the opportunity to check the level of training of instructors-guides who lead tourists along dangerous routes using a QR code.
On July 1, the unified federal register of instructor guides begins to work. You can get into the register after successfully passing the certification in one of the authorized sports federations: mountaineering, underwater sports and sports tourism. Specialists who have successfully passed the qualification exam will receive a badge with a QR code.
The tourist will be able to check with a QR code whether the instructor-guide has the necessary knowledge and experience on a difficult route. When hovering over the code, the user is automatically redirected to the unified federal register on a specialized portal, which contains all the necessary information.
“The measures we have taken are necessary to improve the safety of tourists. There are many cases where people have found themselves in dangerous situations due to insufficient training of their accompanying guide instructors. Therefore, from July 1, we will provide an opportunity for tourists to quickly and simply check the qualifications of an instructor in order to distinguish him from an illegal employee of the industry,” the press service of the PCT quotes Natalia Savelieva, Deputy Director of the Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
