Finikoudes Boardwalk
This is the heart of Larnaca — a picturesque palm alley stretching along the sea. Beautiful, picturesque promenade, well-maintained beach, restaurants, taverns and cafes for every taste!
They say that in the 20s of the last century, when the embankment was planned and date palms were planted, the famous embankment in Nice was taken as a model to follow.

Larnaca Fort and Medieval Museum
The medieval fort was built in the 14th century. At that time, Cyprus was ruled by the successors of the French Lusignan dynasty. In the 17th century, the fortress was rebuilt and fortified by the Ottoman rulers of Cyprus. During the period of British colonization, a prison was located in the fortress, and executions were carried out in the interior.
Currently, the museum of the Middle Ages is located here.

The beautiful new promenade of Larnaca, recently renovated, leads from the Larnaca Fortress to Psarolimano (fishing harbor). Waves are lapping on one side of the boardwalk, and on the other is the old Turkish quarter, with craft workshops and taverns.

Lunch at the Salamis restaurant
ℹ️ Almost a cult place . Every resident of Larnaca knows this tavern. By the way, you see locals here more often. The cuisine is the standard Cypriot dishes (from both the southern and northern parts of Cyprus). I especially recommend fresh fish, seafood and Cypriot meze.

The salt Lakes of Larnaca are a unique nature reserve. Pink flamingos live here in winter (from November to March). In summer, the lakes dry up, becoming covered with a salt crust. From the 15th century, beginning with Venetian rule and up to the 20th century. salt was mined here and traded throughout the Mediterranean.

Recommendations before a walk :

Weather: In the summer months, it is better to start walking early (before 9:00) to avoid the heat.
Money: In Larnaca, euros are accepted everywhere. Cards work almost everywhere, but cash may be needed in small shops.
✅ Language: The official language is Greek, but in tourist places you will be understood in English. Some establishments speak Russian.
Don‘t forget sunglasses and cream – even in October-November, March-April, the sun can be very bright.
, Download the offline map in advance (for example, Maps.me ) – it will be easier to navigate this way.
Have a nice walk around Larnaca!
