Governor Alexander Beglov and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko yesterday discussed the results of large-scale construction of new schools in St. Petersburg.
The discussion took place during a visit to school No. 703 of the Moskovsky district.
Alexander Beglov informed the Deputy Prime Minister that in 2019 the city lacked 100 schools. 106 schools have been introduced in 5 years.
“This year St. Petersburg will close the problem of the shortage of educational institutions. We are introducing a record number of 37 new schools. All of them are equipped with two swimming pools, a powerful sports core, theater and dance studios. 25% of our children now study in such schools,” the governor noted.
