Domklick named the leading regions for the purchase of housing on matkapital

The highest rates were recorded in regions with a large number of large families

The highest share of mortgage transactions using maternity capital in 2024 was recorded in the Leningrad Region — 37.3%. Such data is contained in a study by Domclick analysts provided to the editorial office by the Sberbank press service. The statistics include Savings Bank mortgage transactions in January — May 2024.

The Republics of Adygea (29.7%) and Kabardino—Balkaria (28.8%), Bryansk (27.5%) and Tambov (27.4%) regions are also among the leading regions in mortgage transactions involving mother capital. “The high percentage of transactions involving the use of maternity capital in the regions located in the south of the country is explained, to a large extent, by the number of large families and relatively low incomes of the population,” Domklik analysts explained. Thus, according to Sberbank’s loan statistics, in Kabardino-Balkaria, the percentage of borrowers with three or more children in 2024 reaches 5% of total mortgage demand, while the average in Russia is about 1%.

Domclick also points out that in the Kursk, Smolensk, Orel, Ivanovo, Lipetsk, Belgorod, and Kaluga regions, the percentage of loans using maternity capital lies in the range of 22-27% — this is also largely due to low incomes of the population.

According to Sberbank statistics, most mortgage transactions involving maternity capital are concluded in the secondary housing market — about 60%. The remaining 40% is almost entirely accounted for by the segment of new buildings, the study notes.

In total, according to Domclick, Sberbank borrowers in 2024 concluded more than 42 thousand transactions using mother capital, which is about 16.7% of the total issue.

From February 1, 2024, the amount of payment for the first child in Russia is 630.4 thousand rubles, for the second and subsequent children — 833 thousand rubles. If the family has previously received a payment for the firstborn, at the birth of the second child, the subsidy amount will be 203 thousand rubles.
