Largest tour operator extends summer season to winter at multiple resorts - list and reasons for new normality published.

Крупнейший туроператор решил продлить летний сезон в зиму сразу на множестве курортов: опубликован их список и причины такой

The largest tour operator has decided to extend the summer season into winter at once at a variety of resorts: the German TUI Group has presented a list of destinations where the programs will last until November, and in some cases until the end of November. These are Greece, the islands of Rhodes, Kos and Crete; Turkey “represented” by the resort of Dalaman, as well as the resorts of Tunisia. The tour operator’s management also explained the reasons for this “new normality”.

The issue of extending the season was constantly discussed by tour operators and airlines, but it was difficult to implement it due to the lack of sufficient capacity of aircraft “moving” to winter destinations and the closure of most hotels. But “misfortune helped.” Two circumstances began to scare tourists away from rest in the summer months — the weather and the situation with loading and prices. Tourists began to refuse to rest in July and August due to the heat of +40 at most resorts – and fires that break out every year due to such weather – and at the most popular resorts. The second problem is excessive tourism in the most popular places, and the fantastic prices justified by it, which scare off the thrifty European worse than fire.

As a result, Stefan Baumert, CEO of TUI Germany, told the German press that his company has increased the opportunities for recreation in the pre-season and post-season. So, in Greece, in Crete, TUI will extend the season in Crete until November 23. The tour operator plans to perform 39 flights during this time, and deliver another 7.3 thousand tourists to the island. Flights to Rhodes will also continue until November 9. At the same time, the tour operator recalled that they opened the Greek season on March 26. “It was the earliest season we opened in Greece. Now the season in the direction has expanded to 38 weeks and 268 days a year,” he said.

Turkey has also been extended — TUI plans to fly to the popular European resort of Dalaman until November 8. 7 additional flights will be made there. The program to Istanbul will also last until November 9.

Tunisia has become another extended destination. Tourists are also planned to be sent there until November — we are talking about Djerba and Hamammet. A total of 6 additional flights are planned.
