Таиланд передумал вводить туристический сбор

Thai Prime Minister Sretta Tavisin said his government would reject the previous administration’s proposal to introduce a tourist tax for foreigners in the amount of 300 baht (about $ 8).

“The Prime Minister stated that the tourist tax can bring short-term income, the broader perspective suggests that if more tourists are allowed to enter without this fee, they are likely to spend money on purchases and other activities that can stimulate the economy and potentially bring the government more revenue than the fee itself,” — The Nation newspaper reported.

Meanwhile, it is noted that the initiative was not supported by representatives of the tourism business.

As previously reported by the Free Press, according to Sergey Romashkin, ATOR Vice President for Domestic Tourism, General Director of the Dolphin tour operator, the average cost of a summer tour in Sochi reaches 105 thousand rubles, while Anapa may be even more expensive — in the region of 109 thousand.
