From July 1, 2024, the fee for registration of a foreign passport for Russians will increase by 20 percent, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reports. Now you can get a document for trips to other countries for 5,000 rubles, and from the specified date it can be done only for 6,000 rubles. We are talking about the so-called “new-style passports” containing biometric data and valid for 10 years.
Foreign biometric passports for minors will also become more expensive. Now the registration of a passport for a child or teenager costs 2500 rubles, and from July 1, the cost of the document will increase to 3000 rubles.
At the same time, the cost of registration of old–style passports, valid for 5 years and in which there is no biometric data, will not increase: a document for an adult citizen costs 2000 rubles, for a minor – 1000 rubles. However, the number of countries that prefer to deal only with biometric passports is constantly increasing, so if you are going to travel a lot around the world, there is hardly any point in such savings.
