Israel postponed the launch of the electronic entry system

Израиль перенес запуск системы электронного въезда

The Israeli authorities have decided to postpone the official launch of the electronic entry system — Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). It was previously announced that the system will work from July 1, 2024. However, this did not happen, and ETA continued to function only in test mode. Now the Israel Population and Migration Administration has named a new date for the widespread launch – January 1, 2025, according to the industry publication Vestnik ATOR. Israeli officials claim that the transfer was made due to requests from airlines, which needed additional time to apply new technological systems.

Recall that a specially created portal is currently being created israel-entry.piba.gov.il it works, but it is not necessary to issue entry permits through it. If desired, a tourist can use the site and get an ETA for free. Starting from the new year, the registration of this document will become necessary for everyone coming to Israel, including for citizens of our country, despite the fact that we have a visa-free entry agreement with this state. Permits will be issued for a fee – for 25 shekels (about 570 rubles).
