Demand for small-sized apartments in Russia has fallen. In particular, as Izvestia writes, the share of single-family homes in the secondary market that purchase mortgages has decreased by 1.5 times.

Without a mortgage in May 2023, 75% bought studios and studio apartments in new buildings, this year — 70.6%. Secondary sales decreased by almost 12%.

“The drop is due to the completion of many preferential programs. While good rates are offered to buyers within the framework of family and IT mortgages. At the same time, Russians who use these programs prefer to purchase apartments with a larger area and with more rooms,” experts say.

Earlier, the Free Press wrote that in Mortgage issuance in Russia has fallen by almost 40 percent.
