Recently, a group of tourists went on a very ordinary photo walk through the Kafue National Park in Zambia. Nothing foreshadowed trouble until an angry elephant came out to meet the car with tourists.
One of the tourists was filming a safari on video, and his camera caught a sudden encounter with a five-ton elephant, which ended in tragedy. At first, the beast was moving a few meters from the car, but then it turned sharply towards the people. The driver, who suspected how this might end, stopped the car and wanted to turn back, but the car stalled, and the elephant took advantage of its advantage.
Pouncing on the car, the giant turned it over. As a result of the attack, two people with injuries of varying severity were hospitalized in the capital of Zambia, Lusaka, and another woman, an 80-year-old American, unfortunately died. The rest got off with bruises.
It is not yet known what exactly angered the elephant, but when it comes to safari, you should never forget that there are wild animals around you. No matter how sweet and reasonable they seem. Elephants in general are similar to humans in many ways and even arrange rituals of mourning, saying goodbye to the dead. But that doesn’t make them friendlier. And no one can predict what they will “boil over” from in the next second.
