Two tourists from India drowned after jumping into Lake Issyk-Kul

In Kyrgyzstan, two Indian citizens drowned after jumping from a pier into Lake Issyk-Kul. This is reported by the Department of Internal Affairs of the Issyk-Kul region.

Tourists from India born in 2004 and 2005, who lived in the Blue Issyk-Kul recreation center, drowned in the lake by jumping into the water from the pier. The causes and circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

The Indian Embassy in Bishkek is resolving the issue of sending the bodies home.

Issyk-Kul is a high—altitude lake, one of the cleanest on the planet. It is located in the north-east of Kyrgyzstan in the Tien Shan Mountains at an altitude of 1,600 m, its length is 180 km, and its width is from 30 to 60 km. The average depth of the lake is 300 m.
