About the difficulties with online check-in for flights of Turkish Airlines and its subsidiary carrier AnadoluJet (AJet) editors TourDom.ru the travel agencies reported.
According to them, sometimes tourists manage to check in on their own or with the help of a travel agent, but most often not. “In 2.5 months, out of 57 bookings, only twice it turned out to land customers: in one case during the day, in the other – at night. Here are the statistics,” the retail representative shared.
Meanwhile, it was impossible to register online for AnadoluJet flights with TC 39XX codes last year. There was no official information from the carrier, but some tour operators warned their partners about this.
“On AJet charter flights, it is sometimes possible to check in online, but extremely rarely,” travel agent Yuri Volodin recalled. “In any case, you can’t promise tourists that it will be there.”
In case of impossibility of self-registration in travel companies, customers are warned about this. “We recommend leaving for the airport early to avoid long queues,” said Alexander Rudnev, head of the Cheap Travel travel agency.
For regular flights TC 211/212 and TC 4001/4002, if the ticket is purchased as part of a tour package, online registration is most often available. But passenger seating is usually done automatically, and a tourist can only change a seat if he is not satisfied with it at the airport.
Online check-in with seat selection is possible for regular Turkish Airlines flights only if the ticket was issued through GDS. “Moreover, in fares with luggage, you can make pre–seating and not wait for registration,” Yuri Volodin added. It happens that the airline’s website freezes, but the mobile application, as a rule, works stably.
