In the summer of 2024, 222 thousand tourists from Russia visited Thailand, which was 23% more compared to the same period in 2023.
According to ATOR, with reference to the Moscow office of the Tourism Administration of Thailand (TAT), the figure of 222 thousand travelers from Russia became a record in the history of inbound tourism from the Russian Federation to Thailand. Sales of organized tours increased 2-4 times.
This allowed Russia to take the fifth place in terms of inbound tourist traffic to Thailand after China, Malaysia, India and South Korea.
It is clarified that the Russians made the largest number of trips in July: 83.3 thousand trips. According to tour operators, high demand in the summer period became possible due to the availability of a large selection of flights, as well as favorable prices for accommodation.
In total, almost 1.1 million Russian tourists visited Thailand from January to August 2024.
