The passenger of the S7 Airlines flight Novy Urengoy – Novosibirsk changed his mind about flying after boarding. The man demanded to be released from the cabin of the aircraft, after which the ship went to the parking lot, the Aviaincident telegram channel writes.
“Return from the executive start. According to the EMU report, one of the passengers refused to fly. The decision of the FAC is to taxi to the parking lot,” the message says. The incident occurred on Monday. Despite the delayed departure, Embraer arrived in Tolmachevo on time.
It is worth noting that according to the regulations of the Air Code of the Russian Federation, as well as the FAP, anyone has the right to refuse a flight. The time frame for making a decision is not clearly defined, but for obvious reasons it is better to do it before takeoff. The passenger may change his mind involuntarily, for example due to illness (which is confirmed by the relevant documents), or voluntarily, without specifying the reason, as in this case.
At the same time, the airline has the right not to reimburse the cost of tickets, even those purchased at a refundable rate. But the carrier can recover damages from the passenger through the court, especially in the event of a serious schedule malfunction. Even if one person refuses to fly after taxiing the ship onto the runway and returning to the parking lot, the rest of those on board will also have to get off the plane and re-pass the inspection. A similar procedure is carried out with luggage.
