Russians began to fly to Kaliningrad and Shanghai more often

Travel planning service OneTwoTrip analyzed data on hotel bookings in popular cities of Russia and abroad in the period from January to June and told where its customers vacationed in the first half of 2024.     It turned out that Russians spent less time on vacation inside the country this year: Russia accounted for 72.5% of all hotel orders, and this share decreased by 1.5% compared to the same period in 2023. At the same time, 3.7% more people vacationed abroad, and the share of bookings in other countries increased to 27.5%. In Russia, Travelers most often stayed in hotels in Moscow — the share of the capital amounted to 22.4% of the total number of orders, while its popularity decreased by 8.5% over the year. St. Petersburg took the second place, with 14.0% of tourists vacationing in its hotels in the first half of 2024, which is 11.4% less than in 2023. Adler closes the top three with a share of 4.0%; Russians also rested less often here this year, the number of orders decreased by 6.9%. In addition, Kazan, Sochi, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Esto-Sadok, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad were on the list. Compared to the first half of 2023, the interest of Russian travelers increased to rest in hotels in Kaliningrad and Krasnodar – by 16.0% and 15.7%, respectively; they also booked accommodation in Nizhny Novgorod by 8.8% more often. But in Esto-Sadka, they rested 19.0% less often.
