The Russian Union of Tourism Industry predicts an increase in the number of glamping sites in Russia from 550 to at least 700 in 2024.
According to the PCT, currently in There are 550 glamping sites in Russia, 66% of which operate on a year-round basis. The largest number of objects of this type is in the Moscow region — 56, Krasnodar Territory — 41 and Tatarstan — 22.
It is expected that this year the number of glamping sites will continue to grow and reach at least 700 sites. The active growth is due to the fact that there is a demand from tourists for unique experiences in unique places, as well as the advantages of investing compared to a traditional hotel, including a shorter construction period and fast payback.
At the same time, according to the president of the Association of Glamping, co-founder of the Wild House company Zhanna Kira, there could be more glamping in Russia, but there are a number of constraining factors.
“The growth of their number is constrained by the lack of the concept of glamping in the legal field, underdeveloped infrastructure, and the duration of connection to communication networks. The high cost of building materials hinders, which makes the construction of glamping more expensive compared to what it was 2-3 years ago. The lack of awareness about this type of placement in the whole country is hindered. As a result, it is easy to build glamping in some regions, in another, often neighboring, it is difficult,” Interfax quotes Zhanna Kira as saying.
