Phuket will no longer be as beautiful as it used to be, after the arrest of several Russian women for illegal work in the service sector. The beauty industry of the tourist island of Thailand suffered several losses on the eve of International Women’s Day.
According to sources, there were three people from the Russian Federation in the Russian–speaking cosmetology center – two women and one man. One of the detainees was the owner – she was charged with opening a salon without a license. And the second lady did not have a work visa – only a tourist one.
A few days earlier, police officers covered another salon, where two Russian women were found doing manicures to clients. Their activities on the island were also declared illegal.
The Immigration Bureau keeps its finger on the pulse. In recent days, it has been very actively reporting on the detentions of citizens of different countries. And calls on all local residents to report foreigners working without the necessary permits.
