According to AFP, the bodies of six foreign tourists were found in a room at the luxury Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok 5* hotel in the center of the Thai capital.
The incident occurred on July 15, but the hotel staff found the bodies only yesterday, entering the room for cleaning.
According to the Thai police, the dead were Vietnamese and Americans of Vietnamese origin. There were no signs of violence or robbery. According to preliminary information, all six died from “poisoning with a toxic substance”, which one is not specified.
The Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok 5* Hotel is located in the central Ratchaprasong district in Bangkok. Thai Prime Minister Settha Thawisin visited the scene, concerned about the negative reviews about the safety of tourists in the country.
