Experts analyzed the hotel reservations of Russians from June to August in 2023 and 2024 and found that family vacations with children have become more popular.
Experts of the OneTwoTrip travel planning service, after analyzing hotel bookings, came to the conclusion that the share of families with children vacationing abroad increased from 16% to 21%. Seoul (South Korea) showed the largest increase: demand increased 4 times in the summer of 2024 compared to the summer of 2023. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
The most popular foreign cities were Istanbul (the share was 12%), Minsk (4.3%) and Dubai (3.5%). The TOP 10 cities also included:
- Tbilisi (2.9%);
- Antalya (2.7%);
- Yerevan (2.7%);
- Bangkok (1.6%);
- Paris (1.5%);
- Rome (1.5%);
- Seoul (1.4%).
Experts analyzed which Russian cities Russian families prefer: Sochi (13.5% of orders), Moscow (12.9%), St. Petersburg (12.2%).
“In most cases, rooms were booked for three guests (45% of bookings): two adults and one child. Every second family (53%) made a reservation for a period of 4 to 7 days. Interestingly, in Russia, travelers with children most often stayed in apartments, guest houses and other accommodation facilities without stars (38%), while abroad they preferred four-star hotels (35%),” OneTwoTrip clarified.
