Thailand remains one of the most popular foreign destinations for Russian tourists. With the onset of autumn and on the eve of the upcoming high season in the kingdom, tour sales have increased and are already exceeding last year’s figures.

According to the statistics of the service, this autumn the majority of tourists plan to relax on the Thai island of Phuket — 62%. The resort capital Pattaya accounts for 22% of tour bookings, Phang Nga Province 3%, Krabi 0.6% and Koh Samui only 0.4%.
The press service of the agency network “Shop of burning vouchers” said that usually during the year tours to Thailand are purchased by about 12% of all tourists.
The Kingdom is in third place among foreign tourist destinations, second only to Turkey (39%) and Egypt (19%). Because in the summer in Thailand has a low season, its share in sales has decreased to 7%, but since the beginning of autumn, growth has been observed again: at the moment, the share has already exceeded 9% of all sales.

The ITM Group travel company stated that on Phuket accounts for 40% of all booked tours to Thailand. However, due to the crowded nature of the island in recent years, demand has begun to be redistributed to other Thai resorts. Among them, first of all, Khao Lak, Krabi, Koh Samui, Chang.
Thai authorities are planning to reconstruct Pattaya Utapao Airport, and after that, as tour operators expect, airlines will redirect flight programs to this air harbor. This will be an incentive for the development of such areas of the kingdom as Rayong and Trat, where the resort infrastructure is already actively developing.
According to statistics from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), 920,000 Russian holidaymakers visited the kingdom in the first half of this year. By the end of 2024, Thai authorities expect 1.8 million people to arrive, which is 21% more than in 2023.
