Russian Foreign Ministry: new agreement between Russia and China will increase the period of visa-free stay of tour groups

Russia and China are preparing a new agreement to simplify travel for tourist groups from both countries. Alexey Klimov, head of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti about this.

According to him, the document will reduce the minimum group size from five to three people and increase the period of visa-free stay from 15 to 21 days. It is also planned to introduce electronic document management.

Klimov noted that Russia often discusses the liberalization of the visa regime with the People’s Republic of China. He stressed that we are determined to continue cooperation with Beijing in order to achieve significant agreements in the field of visas.

Earlier, there was a huge demand for Chinese visas in Russia: within two days after the resumption of full-fledged work of the Chinese visa center, Russians snatched up all available places.
