Russia and Azerbaijan have agreed to develop a mutual tourist flow. This was announced by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov.
“Azerbaijan is a popular tourist destination among Russians. However, the indicators for tourist trips of the two countries have not yet returned to the pre—pandemic ones,” the minister said following bilateral talks with Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Fuad Nagiyev in Baku, Interfax reports
As noted during the meeting, the recently signed roadmap for tourism development for the next three years will contribute to the growth of mutual tourist flow between Russia and Azerbaijan. In the near future, the document will allow solving the tasks of developing cross-border routes, joint investment projects and travel brands.
“At the moment, the State Duma is considering a bill equating tour operators who organize trips across the CIS with those who organize trips across the country. This will allow them to count on additional privileges. We hope that the law will be adopted this year,” Reshetnikov said.
According to his forecast, the law encourages travel companies to work more actively with friendly countries, interact more closely with foreign partners and help them organize tours.
