Passenger traffic from Heihe – Blagoveshchensk along the Amur increased by 320%

Passenger traffic at the Heihe – Blagoveshchensk river crossing increased by 320%.

According to ATOR, in the first six months of 2024, the total passenger traffic on the Amur between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe (China) amounted to 340 thousand people, which showed an increase of 320% compared to the same period in 2023. During the day, the Chinese Heihe checkpoint receives more than 4 thousand passengers.

An average of 110 Chinese tourist groups enter Blagoveshchensk from Heihe via Amur, and about 50 Russian tour groups enter from Blagoveshchensk to Heihe.

The 320% increase, according to Chinese media, was made possible by the introduction of visa-free travel for tourist groups.
