In the National Gallery of London, eco-activists attacked Van Gogh’s paintings again

Activists of the Just Stop Oil movement have again attacked paintings by Vincent Van Gogh at the National Gallery in London (Great Britain). This time they poured tomato soup over the canvases “Sunflowers 1889” and “Sunflowers 1888”.

The administration of the gallery reported that the paintings were under protective glass, after the vandal attack they were seized for examination, they fortunately turned out to be intact.

The action took place an hour after two supporters of the same movement, Phoebe Plummer and Anna Holland was sentenced to prison for a similar protest. Then the activists also poured tomato soup over the painting “Sunflowers”. The court estimated the damage at 10,000 pounds.
