The Fishtival gastronomic festival has opened in Zelenogradsk, Kaliningrad region.
The taste festival started today at noon. Over the course of five days, tastings, meetings, discussions, lectures and master classes by famous chefs will be held at its venues. There will be a theme fair.
Every year, the festival gathers the best street food projects from different regions of Russia. Over the years, it was possible to taste Kamchatka crab, Murmansk cod, Crimean red bull, Black Sea horse mackerel, Far Eastern oysters and other fish and seafood from the regions of Russia and the world at its sites.
In 2025, the festival is dedicated to Baltic fish. It will feature dishes from herring, smelt, eel, sprat, and walleye. Visitors will be able to taste chebureks with Baltic walleye and pomegranate adjika, sochni with smoked eel and mackerel with onion marmalade and soaked cherries.
Concerts of Kaliningrad musicians will be held as part of the cultural program.
It is expected that about 60,000 people will attend the festival in Zelenogradsk.
