The highest mountain resort in Russia ended the ski season on June 17. It lasted 208 days and became an absolute record in many respects. The tourist flow to the resort increased by 12% and amounted to 499,104 people against 447,360 guests at the end of last season. “The legendary Elbrus, founded in Kabardino-Balkaria in the early 1970s, is now undergoing a large-scale modernization under the supervision of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. Last season, 6 km of new specific ski slopes of blue and red difficulty categories were laid, 2.5 km of them were opened, a new ski area is being built, which will be launched in 2026,” said Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sergey Nazarov. According to statistics, 57% of the resort’s guests were skiers and snowboarders, 43% were tourists, which indicates an increased interest in the resort not only among the skating audience, but also among people who just want to walk and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. “On average, about 2,400 people visited the resort per day in winter, while March was the most visited month — 103,378 people, the absolute record of the resort in attendance per month. The maximum number of people at the moment was on Elbrus on January 2 — 7,218 people. For us, these figures are not just statistics, but the basis for making decisions on the development of the resort, adjusting marketing activities. Of course, we see a trend for year—round Elbrus and expect a similar tourist flow in the summer season,” says the General Director of Kavkaz.Russian Federation Andrey Yumshanov. This winter season, the official instructor service appeared for the first time at the Elbrus resort, more than 150 instructors were accredited. The resort has launched a separate avalanche patrol and a large convenient parking lot for guests. Within the framework of the Caucasus Social responsibility program. The Russian Federation has initiated an action for combat veterans, participants of the SVO and their family members. More than 13,000 fighters and their loved ones were able to visit the cable cars for free. For the first time in 15 years, a snowpark was launched, which was visited by more than 1,500 riders. Significant sporting events took place on Elbrus — the Russian Championship, the Russian Championship and the Russian Cup stage in alpine skiing, in which more than 115 athletes from 16 regions took part. For the first time, the “Fast track” fare with early riding on corduroy appeared on sale – more than 400 people rode the “first track”.
