Abu Dhabi hosts a summit for travel agents

From June 23 to 28, the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism organized a large-scale educational event (summit) in the UAE capital for 240 travel agencies from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Armenia. The purpose of the event was to raise the level of knowledge about the emirate as a tourist destination, to tell about the latest discoveries and to stimulate the active promotion of Abu Dhabi among the key CIS markets.   As part of the one-day event, which took place in the oasis city of Al Ain, part of Abu Dhabi, the Department shared the latest statistics, current proposals and future plans, and a networking session was held with more than 30 representatives of the Abu Dhabi tourism industry, including hotels and inns, amusement parks and The Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi.   During the program, the travel agents visited the key attractions of the emirate – the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the SeaWorld theme park, as well as the Al-Jahili Fortress, oasis, zoo and safari in the Emirate of Al Ain. In addition, the guests were invited to a gala dinner with awards from the best travel agencies, performances by artists and an entertainment program.   According to the latest statistics, in April of this year, Kazakhstan took the 10th place in terms of the number of guests of the emirate and the 11th place in terms of the number of nights spent, the 5th place in terms of vacation expenses per room, and also became the leader of the markets using the services of cruise liners. Armenia ranked 15th in terms of the number of nights spent by tourists and 8th in terms of vacation expenses per room. No less impressive figures were observed in Uzbekistan, which ranked 18th in terms of the number of guests and 20th in terms of the number of nights. Compared to the previous year, the Department plans to increase the flow of tourists from Kazakhstan by 24%, from Uzbekistan by 15%, from Armenia by 42%.   These statistics once again emphasize that the Department sees great potential in promoting the emirate in the markets of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Armenia. The Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism plans to make such an event an annual event not only for the markets of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Armenia, but also for Russia.
