A tourist tax will be introduced in Veliky Novgorod

A tourist tax will be introduced in Veliky Novgorod from January 1, 2025. This decision was made by the Novgorod City Duma.

In 2025, the tourist tax rate will amount to 1% of the tax base, then for four years it will increase annually by another 1% and by 2029 it will reach 5%.

The tax on hotel accommodation will not be levied on members of large families, residents of the Novgorod region traveling in their region, as well as several other privileged categories of persons.

The funds received from the new tax will go entirely to the municipal budget.
