Documentation on the layout of the territory for the location of the future Pulkovo metro station has been prepared and agreed in St. Petersburg. This was announced by Governor Alexander Beglov.

“The General Plan of St. Petersburg records the continuation of the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya metro line from the Prospekt Veteranov station to the Pulkovo station. The first step towards the design has already been taken — the documentation on the layout of the territory for the placement of this linear object has been prepared and agreed upon,” he said.

It follows from the document that the Pulkovo metro station will open in 2028. The information was confirmed by the construction committee.

Earlier, the issue of Pulkovo’s transport accessibility was discussed at the highest level, by the governments of the Russian Federation and St. Petersburg was instructed to work out the issue “on ensuring high-speed passenger traffic of the St. Petersburg urban agglomeration with Pulkovo Airport, including by extending metro lines, determining the construction dates of the relevant facilities, the volume and sources of financing for their construction.”
