A domestic toilet will be installed for the first time on the prototype of the import-substituted Superjet 100 aircraft from day to day. This modular design for the cabin of a short-haul airliner has already been delivered to the Yakovlev production center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The installation is currently being prepared.
The new interior was designed by Aviation Interiors together with Yakovlev specialists. Previously, latrines manufactured in France were used on superjets. Zodiac Aerospace was involved in this.
Judging by the first photo, which was published in aviation telegram channels, the water closet is made in gray tones. In general, the placement of the main elements has not changed in comparison with its foreign counterpart. To get inside, you need to open the swing door, which opens entirely and probably occupies the entire passage.
Tourists, looking at the photos, are trying to figure out how ergonomic the new toilet will be. In the photo, you can see the sink, compartments for used paper and other minor details. But what the main attribute will look like in the domestic module is unclear – it is hidden behind the wall.
