Argumenty i Fakty Weekly No. 19. Stand up to victory 08/05/2024
Our family consists of two adults and three children. Which planning solutions are better and is it worth taking a house with two floors?
– The options here are very different and depend, among other things, on what the family’s purchase budget is, what age the new settlers are, – says Lev Shpaysman, head of the Dom-Invest real estate agency. – But on average, houses with an area of 120-130 square meters, up to a maximum of 150 square meters, are best suited for a family with two or three children. This is usually enough to accommodate a common kitchen-living room where the whole family could gather or meet guests, the necessary number of bathrooms and bedrooms for parents and children, storage space and a boiler room.
Such an object will not require excessive maintenance costs, and with skillful planning you will not have to pay for non-functional square meters and “dead” corners.
As for the number of floors, single-storey houses are more convenient for families with young children and the elderly. They may get tired of the flights of stairs, which will have to be overcome several times a day.
