The opening date of the fountain season in St. Petersburg has been announced

For the new season, the specialists of the St. Petersburg Water Utility‑St. Petersburg is preparing 85 city fountains, including three large fountain complexes.

Most of them will start working on April 22. Before starting, fountains are checked for tightness of pipelines and collector systems, structures and decorative elements are washed, drain holes are washed after melted snow, the integrity of the bowls is restored, electrical equipment is installed.

Fountains on Manezhnaya Square, on Moskovsky Prospekt, at 172, on Blagodatnaya Street, on Reshetnikov Street, in the Alexander Garden have already been put on standby; as well as the Slava fountain in Moscow’s Victory Park.

79 structures will be operational on April 22. Six more – the light and music fountain in Peterhof on the Shopping Square, the Tic-Tac-Toe fountain in Sestroretsk, the fountain at Gostiny Dvor in Kronstadt, the large fountain in the village of Metallostroy, as well as fountain complexes on Moskovskaya Square and Lenin Square – will be turned on on May 1.
