The share of vacant space in shopping malls in Russia currently does not exceed 8% on average.
This was announced by State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Yevtukhov during a speech at the forum “Russian Retail Week 2024”.
“Today, the average vacancy rate of retail space in shopping centers is, according to expert estimates, only 5-8% – this is the pre-crisis level of 2019,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The deputy minister said that in general, “there is no silver lining,” and while Western brands were leaving, domestic ones appeared and expanded.
“Our domestic companies have not only filled the vacant retail space, but also generally demonstrate growth and development,” he added.
