In the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg, SPb GBU Lensvet replaced sodium lamps with LED ones on Demyan Bedny Street.
The roadway and pedestrian area are now illuminated by almost 200 modern lanterns. The new sources are characterized by higher lighting quality, durability and energy efficiency compared to sodium sources.
For city streets and highways in St. Petersburg‑LEDs with a warm color temperature of 3000 K. are used in St. Petersburg. More contrasting lamps (5000 K) are placed above 11 pedestrian zones. This measure allows drivers to focus their attention on certain road sections.
In 2024, in the Kalininsky district, the Committee for Energy and Engineering planned the reconstruction of lighting on Vasenko Street, Metallist Avenue, in Lyubashinsky Garden. Lighting is under construction in Murinsky Park on the section from Civil Avenue to Rustaveli Street.
