Frunzenskaya metro station will be closed for reconstruction for three years

JSC Roads and Bridges will carry out the reconstruction of the lobby of the St. Petersburg metro station Frunzenskaya with the complete replacement of escalators and the creation of a Single Metro Dispatch Center (EDTSM).

The planned start date is June 1, 2024. The reconstruction will be carried out in two stages. The first stage of reconstruction will last 36 months. The duration of work on the second stage will be 26 months.

As part of the first stage, the EDCM building will be erected on the basis of an expanded lobby, the inclined passage will be reconstructed with the replacement of three escalators by four, all technical, auxiliary and administrative premises necessary for passenger service and ensuring the station’s operability will be completely renovated, and engineering networks will also be replaced.

As part of the second stage, the organization of premises will be carried out, including engineering systems and decoration, furniture will be placed, workplaces on the floors will be equipped, engineering, technical and information technology infrastructure of a Single dispatch center will be created.

It is planned to open the station to passengers upon completion of the first stage of work – on June 1, 2027.
