First, let’s define the terminology. There are four types of additional space to the apartment, in close contact with the street: a balcony, a loggia, a terrace and a veranda. The balcony is an open area with a railing extending beyond the building. A loggia is a room enclosed on three sides. A terrace is an open enclosed space either on the ground floor level or on the roof of the lower level. A veranda is an unheated glazed room adjacent to a house, built-in or built-in.
The most spacious formats are the terrace and the veranda. Remember, the veranda always has external partitions and a roof. The terrace can have a canopy, or it can remain without a roof and be used as a solarium. If the terrace is glazed, it will turn into a veranda, if you follow the terminology carefully.
A small terrace is already an advantage in the eyes of the buyer. Truly huge terraces are found, for example, in penthouses. They occupy the entire roof area above the apartment and may include a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, and a training area.
