Market participants say that most of the buyers of second homes today consider only options in the low price segment. In addition, the number of complex transactions using alternative sources of funds has increased in the city, writes RBC.
In the secondary real estate market of St. Petersburg in April 2024, 8,260 purchase and sale and exchange agreements with residential premises were registered, according to the regional department of the Federal Register. Market activity last month was higher than the results of March (7,499 transactions).
Although the number of transactions has been growing since the beginning of the year (in January there were 4,950, in February — 6,569), the April results were still significantly lower than last year’s level: in April 2023, 9,827 transactions were concluded in the city. Realtors say that buyers have adapted to the high level of mortgage rates, but prefer the most budget options and actively bargain, forcing sellers to lower prices.
