Aquilon Group conducted a survey on social networks on the topic of parents’ willingness to purchase real estate for student children. The study also aimed to explore the characteristics that youth housing should have.
According to the data obtained, almost 40% of parents are ready and purchase real estate for student children. Most people choose a cozy studio as their first home for a child: 50% of the survey participants decided that this particular apartment format would suit a young person.
Almost a quarter of those who voted chose the option of a larger apartment so that it could meet the future needs of young people. Buying an apartment for growth has been a steady trend for a long time, says Natalia Korotaevskaya, commercial director of the Aquilon Group in St. Petersburg and LO: “Now real estate is often purchased for the future, for growth. Due to the narrow planning horizon, people rely on the size of the monthly payment and purchase apartments for a long time. With this in mind, we are working on the squares using the “reasonable meters” approach: we do not reduce, but optimize the living space, we rely on the euroformat, avoiding unused areas. This allows our customers to save both on the transaction and further on utility bills.”
According to the analytical department of the Aquilon Group, euro-format apartments have become more popular than classic ones and now make up the majority of planning solutions in the company’s projects.
Location preferences were also revealed as part of the survey. 17% of respondents chose the apartment of the university, 8% voted for the option “closer to the city center”. The location of the purchased property remains one of the most important factors when choosing.
The last most popular option was “apartment next to the park”.Although such a factor as the ecology of the chosen location is taken into account, it is not the leading one in determining the future place for young people to live.
