Virgin Airlines employees refused to let a tourist from Australia on a flight to Bali because of a tiny defect in her passport. This is reported by Yahoo News Australia.

It is clarified that Sydney resident Alice Elmer knew that there was a torn page in her travel document, but did not attach any importance to this, since over the past six months she had already flown to Thailand and Hong Kong using it.

“I was completely shocked when she [an airline employee] said: “I don’t think you can fly because Indonesia has very strict rules,” the tourist told reporters.

According to her, representatives of the carrier quickly booked her a ticket for the next day at no additional cost. But she had less than a day to get a new passport.

As a result, the traveler still managed to make an emergency document, and it cost her $ 598 (about 55.3 thousand rubles).

Earlier, the British family was left without a vacation in Thailand for 800 thousand rubles because of their daughter’s torn passport. They had to book a new trip to another country right at the airport.
