A United Airlines flight attendant twice spilled boiling water on a business class passenger during the flight and offered him $75 (about 6.8 thousand rubles) as compensation. The traveler shared the details of the story on the Reddit forum, and the Paddle Your Own Kanoo (PYOK) portal drew attention to the publication.

A user with the nickname Patient_Extent4762, who later deleted his post, said that the incident occurred on a flight from San Francisco to Honolulu, USA. According to the passenger, for the first time, the stewardess poured a hot drink over him before departure, when she helped a woman sitting in the row in front. “I asked her to give me a new blanket, but she said they were gone, and she would clean it,” the user added.

The man noted that he accepted the stewardess’s apology and went to bed, but about half an hour before boarding, he was again doused with scalding coffee.

“I got severe burns to my chest and winced in pain. I even had to throw away my shirt because it had to be torn from the skin,” the traveler complained.

The passenger wrote that after that the flight attendant offered him compensation in the form of money or bonus miles, which, in his opinion, was disrespectful.

Earlier, a passenger suffered first and second degree burns on an American Airlines flight and sued the carrier. The woman said that during the turbulence, a coffee pot was placed on her lap, causing injuries.
