In Moscow, after the reconstruction, which lasted a year and a half, the Riga Railway Station began to receive passengers: now trains come to it from stations such as Novoyerusalimskaya, Volokolamsk, Shakhovskaya, Rumyantsevo.
After the work carried out, the station got new platforms with modern lighting, the interiors of the building and navigation were updated. The MCD-4 train will be stopping at this station soon. And in the future, it is planned to create a large transport interchange hub on its basis, combining two metro lines, three central diameters and the Moscow- St. Petersburg high–speed highway.
Recall that the Riga railway Station appeared in the Russian capital in 1901. The building is made in a pseudo–Russian style and resembles the architecture of medieval Russia: the project is based on three towers connected by passages. Trains to the Baltic cities departed from this station.
The Rizhsky railway Station is interesting not only for passengers: on its territory there is a Museum of the history of the development of railway transport of the Moscow Railway.
