The lack of high-quality hotels and the high demand for them in domestic tourism leads to the fact that the appetites of hoteliers are not limited to anything and the prices of Russian hotels are shocking. According to the newspaper Novye Izvestia, the Alliance of Travel Agencies of Russia (ATA) announced a sharp increase in prices for hotels inside Russia, the journalists decided to check, estimated the cost and were shocked.
So, in Kaliningrad, experts have found hotels with an average price of 50 thousand rubles per night, but this is not the limit. The “Royal Suite” of the Crystal House Suite Hotel&SPA, which is located, will cost a tourist 256 500 rubles or 1.75 million per week. For this money, the tourist will receive a panoramic penthouse with a view of the lake with an area of 300 sq. m. The room has three bedrooms, a living room, an office, three dressing rooms and two bathrooms. At the same time, a separate number stated that “the rooms are intended exclusively for living” and “holding noisy, mass events, corporate parties, parties is prohibited.” The usual rooms in this hotel are from 41 to 62 thousand rubles per night.
As experts added, in Moscow, in the legendary “Metropol”, a historical Suite room for 65 thousand rubles will cost this price. They also looked at other directions in search of the most expensive rooms. The Grand Hotel Europa was “discovered” in St. Petersburg, where the Presidential double suite with one double bed turned out to be even more expensive than the Kaliningrad penthouse with a terrace — 282 thousand per night. Sochi’s Radisson Collection Paradise Resort & SPA offers a suite with sea views for 148 thousand rubles, and a separate two—storey villa with its own pool – 310,000. And these villas are already sold out before September.
“This fact shows once again that there is a clear shortage of first—class hotels in Russia. No one thought that sanctions and other problems would cause such a fervent interest in domestic recreation among its wealthy citizens, many of whom travel abroad is completely closed for well-known reasons,” the experts of the publication added.
Meanwhile, even at such prices, they come up with options to look into the tourist’s wallet in another way. Hotels are trying to “push” the idea of non-refundable rooms. Read the details here.
