The Ivangorod checkpoint on the border with Estonia will be open only during the daytime from May 1, 2024, a message about this appeared on the official Teleram channel of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Rosgranstroy subordinated to the Ministry of Transport. The opening hours of the checkpoint are from 07:00 in the morning to 23:00. Only pedestrians can cross the border at this place.
Estonian border guards stated in early April that with a decrease in the flow of those wishing to cross the border, it would be unprofitable for them to work around the clock. Now, following the Estonians, the Russian ministry also announced that officially the checkpoint will serve citizens only during the daytime.
Recall that cars stopped passing through the Narva checkpoint (on the Estonian side) and Ivangorod (on the Russian side) since February 1, 2024, when the automobile part of the border control point was closed for general repairs. Therefore, bus companies operating flights between Russia and Estonia have to take passengers to the border on one side, drop them off, and then, after people cross the border on foot, pick them up from the opposite side on other buses.
