The old tariffs will be changed from July 30. For some dangerous objects, the upper limit of the tariff will increase by 25%
The Central Bank announced the introduction of new tariffs for civil liability insurance for owners of hazardous facilities — their list includes, among other things, real estate and structures used in buildings.
The Central Bank’s instruction on this matter has already been registered with the Ministry of Justice and comes into force on July 30, 2024. The regulator’s message says that the new rules more accurately reflect the real risks and take into account the dynamics of unprofitability.
According to the law, some industrial facilities, hydraulic structures, gas stations, elevators and other lifts, as well as a number of other facilities, including real estate and engineering networks, are considered dangerous. The owners of such facilities are obliged to insure their civil liability. Upon the occurrence of an insured event, payments, depending on the number of victims, can reach 9.75 billion rubles.
According to the Central Bank, for most hazardous facilities, the lower limit of the insurance tariff will be reduced by 25%. The exception is facilities that use pressurized equipment. These include, as explained in the Central Bank, for example, boiler houses, heating plants, heating networks and more. For them, the lower limit will remain at the same level, while the upper one, on the contrary, will increase by 25%.
Nothing changes for hydraulic structures, petrochemical and mining enterprises, facilities related to explosives, mines and wells: the tariff corridor remains the same.
