Not everyone knows about this, but Muscovites have the opportunity, subject to a number of technical conditions, to take ownership of attics and basements of their houses.
What can we say about the price of such an opportunity – after all, any square meter of real estate in Moscow is worth its weight in gold, even if it is located directly under the roof or in the basement, above the foundation. The main thing is that if you don’t live there, then you can make a profitable business space: these are workshops, storage sheds, greenhouses and other profitable and profitable “little things”.
The capital’s real estate experts confirm that over the past decade, the Moscow authorities have transferred more than 4,500 premises in attics, basements and stairwells to the residents of the city. Of course, this is still a drop in the bucket, because not all Muscovites know about the real possibility of becoming the owner of a cozy basement or attic in their own apartment building.
But those who became the lucky owner of additional “squares” were able to make repairs there to their taste, and then arrange rooms for concierges, storerooms and wheelchairs. The smartest and most enterprising even arrange gyms, recreation rooms and facilities for children’s clubs here. However, most often storerooms are equipped so as not to store seasonal items in the apartment — this is the easiest and does not require costs.
By the way, the opportunity to transfer attic and basement premises from urban to communal ownership appeared in 2014, but it is still widely unknown, alas.
So go ahead, Muscovites, and don’t miss a great opportunity!
